Katie and Nate are the kind of couple you want in your group of friends – the minute you meet them, you know it. My favorite and perhaps first memory of them was celebrating Halloween together in downtown Frederick. Katie and Nate arrived to the party in THE BEST couples Halloween costume I’d ever seen. Nate was dressed as a slice of pizza and Katie a pretzel. If you were a resident or frequent visitor of Frederick you would instantly recognize this as the notoriously delicious downtown pizza shop, Pizza Pretzel (they make their pizza out of a kind-of pretzel dough, giving it a unique and delicious flavor). I loved them both immediately.
With infectious smiles and laughs, both of them, they care most about you and that you’re doing okay – with never as much concern about themselves. And it’s abundantly clear that they care an incredible deal about each other. I was a touch over the moon to be able to photograph their day.
Chris joined the boys in the morning and snapped some getting-ready photos. I’ve hung out with this group before and I hardly ever stop laughing when I’m with them.
I was with the girls, who were all awesome.
The flower arrangements, done by Rick’s Flowers, were beautiful. The dress was stunning and Katie looked amazing in it!
The boys waiting for the ceremony to begin…
The church – Saint Patrick Catholic Church of DC – is gorgeous. The ceremony was lovely.
We took bridal party portraits all around DC, which was awesome but (side note!) – make sure you get your permit before you attempt this ;)
Just the maids and just the men…
We made it inside the venue JUST before a big (and thankfully quick) storm hit.
The venue – Top of the Town – is absolutely amazing, by the way. Perfect views of the city.
On to the reception…
The cake was done by The Cake Room Bakery. Not only was it beautiful, but it looked absolutely delicious.
And then the party! This was one of those weddings where the dance floor was literally packed from the moment the music started to the moment it ended. Everyone was having a blast. It was awesome, you guys.
Katie and Nate making small speeches and cracking everyone up –
And the last dance. <3
Katie and Nate – thank you so much again for having Chris and I as your photographers. We both had such a blast and it was an absolute pleasure to be a part of your day. Both of your families are awesome, sweet and loving. Your friends are fun and hilarious (seriously) and you are both such amazing people. I have no doubt that you’ll live a very happy life together.
ps – a shout out to Katie of Rose Gold Events and Styling who did such a great job coordinating this wedding :)
